WTJU 2020 Elementary School Summer Camp Registration (July 20-24)

A week long day camp (9am - 3pm) designed to teach students (grades 3-5, ages 8-10) the basics of radio and audio production. Middle school students (Grade 6) are also welcome to participate in this camp. Scroll to bottom for more information. NOTE: If you would like to pay by check or cash, please email wtju@virginia.edu with the subject: WTJU Radio Camp Application. We can not accept cash/check through the estore. Scholarships are also available for those with a financial need.

Upper Elementary School Students (grades 3-5, ages 8-10) will learn the basics of audio production, conduct radio interviews, visit music venues and studios in town and produce a short audio piece.

Middle School Students (grades 6-8, ages 11-13) will do a more advanced version of the Elementary curriculum while also producing a full music show that will air on 100.1 FM.

High School Students (grades 9-12, ages 14-18) should reach out to wtju@virginia.edu for internship opportunities where they will design and execute a personalized curriclum covering topics such as news production, band/live music engineering, and audio editing.
